Board Affairs Advisory Council   

Purpose:  Advisory councils assist the Board in carrying out their work by providing expertise and advice to more effectively govern our Association. They function in concert with the Board of Directors and do not have voting authority.

The Council exists to help strengthen our community on a variety of levels including:
  • To advise the Board of Directors regarding the Rules, the Bylaws and the Declaration of Restrictions.
  • To enhance communication and distribution of information relating to our community.
  • To maintain and update Association procedures and guidelines.
  • To offer leadership in Board development and training (orientation, continuing education).
  • To provide leadership for evaluation activities (measurement of performance).

Membership: Council members are appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the Board of Directors. Council membership shall not exceed three (3).

The desired qualities of members are:
  • Dependable and can be in attendance when Association business is being conducted.
  • Can demonstrate valuable leadership skills.
  • Has awareness of the actions of the organization and understands the climate of the Association and its members.
  • Communication skills: the ability to answer questions and ensure that any legal and financial issues are properly addressed.
